How do we grade? What do the standards-based numbers mean?
A set of numbers and letter accompany each assignment. These are the targets for students. Example: L72 - I can use correct spelling, punctuation and capitalization.

- 30% of your grade
- Practice work with feedback to help on summative assessments
Summative Assessment
- 70% of your grade.
- Tests, quizzes, projects
Classwork and Homework -
- You may have homework 1-2 times a week.
- This homework should not take more than 30 minutes.
- All of the work in English is worth doing. We do the class and home work to prepare for the summative assessments.
- We may not take a late assignment after the summative assessment.
- We will take late summative assessments (with no penalty) until the day before grades are due.
